Abstract

Fingerlings of rohu, Labeo rohita (Ham.), showing distended abdomen with accumulation of watery fluid were collected and examined for bacteriological and histopathological studies. Aeromonas hydrophila was isolated from the affected fishes and were confirmed by computerised Enterobactericeae kit. Histopathological study revealed degenerative as well as necrotic changes in the liver, kidney, muscle tissue, gill and brain.
