Holding apparatus for arthrography of the knee is greatly needed. A device is manufactured and an experimental trial on its applicability is presented. The fixing mechanism designed allowed a quantitative stretching on the designated direction for a maximun opening of the joint space. Also, since the knee was immobilized by the force provided from four point, its avoided problems of movement or twisting. Moreover, X-ray photogram of great accuracy and good reproductibility was made available, causing minimun pain to the patient which easy the examination. The result of this trial indicated a promissing use since prevented unnecessary exposure of technicians.
