ABSTRACT
Summary: Since the conclusion of the bipolar period, the architecture of global security has changed radically and unpredictably, exposing NATO’s and Poland’s security environment to ongoing challenges, pressure and threats. As a member of NATO, Poland, in its strategic documents, demonstrates views that are generally consistent with the provisions of the Alliance’s strategic documents. Poland’s national security strategies and NATO’s strategic concepts were compared, and the results showed a strong similarity of the assessments of the security environment. Additionally, assumptions that should guide the security environment diagnosis in the future Poland’s national security strategy were made, taking into consideration the threats to Poland’s security that currently exist, including those related to Russia’s aggressive foreign policy
