Given the significant advancements in human communication and its consequential benefits, there is a desire to establish a connection between inanimate objects for the purpose of facilitating similar communication. The Internet of Things (IoT) stands out as one of the most popular and sought-after technologies of the present time. It encompasses a comprehensive infrastructure comprising hardware, software, and services to facilitate the networking of physical objects. The primary objective of IoT is to enable a seamless interaction between the physical and virtual realms, incorporating a multitude of realworld elements into the Internet. In addition to the conventional functionalities offered within a household, smart homes can be associated with various other domains of IoT application. This includes the ability to monitor and forecast natural phenomena, taking preventive measures as deemed necessary, making essential purchases in the absence of human intervention, and carrying out tasks without human presence, among others. In this research, we examine the application of the IoT in the development of a home automation system using Raspberry Pi as the core and many other components, namely, an efficient appliance for monitoring and controlling homes. Connections and the way of communicating these pastures are also clarified and illustrated, the necessary elements and the type of function. The smart home automation system will include a residential home, including the yard, garage, entrance door, corridor, living room and kitchen, which of these parts of the house will have different functions that can be applied and combined for other spaces.
