A 51-year-old woman complained of a submental mass with a red papule which arose probably after she was scratched by a kitten. Since antibiotic therapy for three weeks was not effective, the lesion was extirpated surgically. Histopathological examination showed granulomatous lymphadenitis. Bacilli were seen in Warthin-Starry stained specimens. The clinical course and histopathological findings led to a diagnosis of cat scratch disease.
