Abstract

This report deals with an investigation of media and plant growth regulators for obtaining multiple plantlets of turmeric. Murashige-Skoog (MS)medium containing 10mg/l BA was effective for shoot formation. These shoots formed healthy roots on 1/2 MS medium containing 0.1mg/l NAA. Plantlets were tranferred to soil and healthily grew. Curcuminoids in rhizomes of mother plants and regenerants were analysed by HPLC.
