Nizam-al-Din 'Ubaid Allah Zakani may be regarded as the most remarkable parodist and satirist produced by Persia in the fourteenth century, during which Sufism played an important role in the Persian literature.
'Ubaid-e-Zakani, who was born in Qazvin, lived at Shiraz in the reign of Abu Ishaq Inju.
His most celebrated satiric poem is “Mush wa Gorbe”, which means “Rats and Cats”, and his work should be estimated from the point of its characteristics in the Persian literature.
