A small cylindrical opacity measuring 8 x 21 mm is seen projecting over the cardiac shadow, representing a wireless/leadless cardiac pacemaker. Mild hilar vascular congestion. No frank consolidation, pleural effusion or pneumothorax is seen. Calcifications are seen in the aortic knuckle.
Case Discussion
- examination findings showed severe bradycardia (heart rate = 34).
- ECG showed complete heart block
- echocardiography showed normal biventricular size and systolic function, mildly dilated atria, and mild tricuspid regurgitation
- the patient underwent percutaneous (via femoral approach) implantation of right ventricular single chamber, leadless cardiac pacemaker.
