  • Souvenir photograph of the ferry over Buller Gorge on the South Island of New Zealand. Featuring two men, one leaning against the railings and another in a horse and cart, crossing the Buller River on a ferry, with the hills surrounding the river in the background. Photographed by the Burton Brothers, Dunedin, New Zealand. Printed on the front of the photograph: '5444 Buller Gorge Nine Mile Ferry' and: 'Burton Bros. Dunedin'. From Michael Davitt’s tour of Australia and New Zealand in 1895.

  • The Davitt papers were in the hands of Professor T.W. Moody, professor of modern history TCD and biographer of Davitt, and they were arranged, numbered and listed by him. His arrangement and catalogue remain in use but aspects of his numbering have been superceded. Additional listing done in TCD. Deposited in TCD Library in parts 31 March 1978 and 20 August 1980. Presented by Davitt's son, Judge Cahir Davitt, May 1982 and 17 June 1982 with additions later (January 1983).
