Gathering together many accounts from the memoirs of innumerable people from every walk of life and political frame of mind: communists and tsarists, foreign journalists and ambassadors in Petrograd, Russian soldiers at the front and peasants in the countryside. The accounts of the witnesses allow the reader to relive the chaos and the high drama of the revolution through their eyes and experiences.
