- Aluminum mouldings and other trim on automobiles have been attached in every conceivable way, with all kinds of attachment materials. Electrical contact between the trim and body steel need not be prevented; it may be a decided asset. Aluminum trim parts may actually extend the life of mounting clips and pierced and painted body steel in the vicinity of holes and fasteners.
