The present paper aims to prevent the noise caused by the textile machinery. The effect of the wide range of the machine enclosures on noise is experimentally and quantitatively discussed using a spinning machinery. Experimental results recommend :
1) to line an inner surface of the enclosure with the sound absorptive materials,
2) to install a sound absorbing duct at the opening of the enclosure, and
3) to use a double wall structures if the single wall structue reduces the noise insufficiently.
