Synthesis of Structural Flame Retardant Polyether Polyol and its Flame Retardation Performance Evaluation

Article Preview

Abstract:

A new polyether polyol of introducing melamine/phenol into it’s molecular chain which with structural flame retardant performance has been synthesized successfully in this paper. Both of FTIR and 1H NMR spectra proved the presence of the characteristic peak for triazine ring/benzene ring in melamine-phenolic structural flame retardant polyether polyol (MPFRP). Scanning electron microscopy analysis (SEM) observations showed that all the PUR foam have uniform and dense cell structure. The limiting oxygen index (LOI) of MPFRP based PUR foam can be reach to 24.8%, which was higher by 37% than that of PUR foam fabricated by 4110 based polyether.
