The authors proposed a simple method favourable for the photomicrographic examination of printed matter under transmitted light illumination with specimens prepared as follows :
A small piece of the printed matter is wetted with hot water and blotted and then the back side of it is carefully teared o After drying, it is made transparent by dipping in Xylol, and then sealed in optical deck and cover glass with Canada balsom.
