Abstract
We discuss a successful case for the application of the 3D3C seismic interpreting technique for prospecting in the northern region of Sanhu in the Qaidam basin. On the basis of the advanced 3D3C technique, with the breakthrough in the converted wave statics and the converted wave pre-stack time migration technique, multi-wave seismic property analysis and hydrocarbon prediction are carried out using high quality data. The application lays a solid foundation for ensuring a range of favourable lithological reservoir targets. In fact, the prediction results coincide well with drilled wells, and the application is proven to be valuable, illuminating the next prospecting area in the region.
