Sound field reproduction based on physical-model-based pressure matching with frequency-dependent variable control regions

The pressure matching (PM) method, one of the numerical sound field reproduction methods, requires the measurement of many transfer functions. Thus, it was difficult to modify the extent of the control region and the number of control points. In our previous studies, we proposed physical-model-based PM method by using sparse equivalent sources. Since the sound field from each loudspeaker is modeled by the superposition of equivalent sources, we can obtain the transfer functions at any position from the loudspeaker. Thus, the density and extent of control points can be freely modified. On the other hand, the PM method has the limitation that the reproduction accuracy depends on the extent of the controlled region. In this study, we proposed physical-model-based PM method with frequency-dependent variable control regions. In the simulation experiment, we evaluate the relationship between the extent of the reproduction region and the reproduction accuracy at each frequency. We also discuss the total reproduction accuracy when the extent of the reproduction region is modified for each frequency.
