Abstract

A Magyar Királyi Csendőrség létrehozásának döntő oka az volt, hogy vidéken a rend fenntartása terén a rendőrség csődöt mondott. A magyar határőrizetbe pedig a már működő csendőr testület bevonására azért került sor, mert a határ őrizetében résztvevő pénzügyőri csapatok, továbbá a szolgabírói határszéli kirendeltségek, valamint az önkormányzati rendőrségek már nem tudták megvalósítani a magyar határőrizet megnyugtató módon való végrehajtását. A határszéli csendőrség a magyar-román és a magyar-szerb határon működött, feladatát a határvonal őrzése képezte. A határszéli csendőrség volt a dualizmus időszakában az első magyar rendvédelmi szervezet, amelynek a szervezetében a határvonal őrzésének eredményesebb végrehajtása érdekében speciális szervezeti elemeket hoztak létre, illetve a szolgálat végrehajtás metodikáját módosították. = The decisive reason for the establishment of the Hungarian Royal Gendarmerie was that the police failed in the maintance of order. Involvement of the already working gendarmerie body in to the Hungarian border guard came true because of that the costums police troops and the frontier sheriff subofficies as well as the local government policies could no longer satisfactorily carry out border control. The border gendarmerie operated of the HungarianRomanian and Hungarian-Serbian borders, its task was to guard the border line. The border gendarmerie was the first Hungarian law enforcement organization in the period of dualism, in the organization of wich special organizational elements were created in order to implement the border line more effectively and the methodology of the service was modified.
