About this book

In Canada one of the most important means by which the government regulates business is the Combines Investigation Act. In this book a political scientist and an economist have collaborated to study the way this legislation has developed and has been administered.

Rosenbluth Gideon :

GIDEON ROSENBLUTH is a graduate of the University of Toronto and Columbia Unviersity. He has taught economics at Princeton, Stanford and Queen's universities, and is now Professor of Economics, University of British Columbia.

Thorburn H.G. :

HUGH G. THORBURN is a graduate of the University of Toronto in political science, and Columbia University in public law and government. He has taught at Mount Allison University and the University of Saskatchewan, and is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Queen's University. Both authors have been frequent contributors to the Canadian Journal of Economics and Political Science and have also published book-length works -- Professor Rosenbluth, Concentration in Canadian Manufacturing Industries, Professor Thorburn , Politics in New Brunswick.
