This paper presents the method for evaluating the surface hardness of floors with difference-inlevel in a viewpoint of facility to walk up. At first, the sensation and evaluation scale relating to hardness of floors employed for the sensory test were constructed. Then, dynamic behavior of sample floors was measured by using "hardness testing apparatus for the floor". Derived from the result of measurements, "U_F-8・D_R・D_R・T^^<-1>__R" was calculated as the physical value which corresponds to the hardness. Secondly, based on the correlation between evaluation scale and quantitative value "U_F-8・D_R・D_R・T^^<-1>__R", the evaluation indexes were obtained.
