Abstract: |
The purpose of this study is to examine if school principals’ self-perceived roles and responsibilities in China, Ghana, Hungary, Turkey, Poland and the United States are significantly different from one another. A sample of 544 school principals of six countries participated in the study. A researcher-designed quantitative and qualitative survey was used for data collection. Descriptive statistics of means, standard deviations, and frequencies together with Multivariate Analysis of Variance was used to analyze quantitative data. Qualitative data were examined by observing emerging patterns and themes. Findings of the study showed that similarities and differences existed among the school principals’ self-perceptions in the six countries. Principals of different countries can share their experiences and can learn from one another.
