Recent cases of 21 deliveries without professional attendants, either obstetrician or midwife, occurred in two local districts of Ibaraki prefecture were studied, with special references to nonprofessional attendants, outcome of birth and puerperium, and health status of babies. Furthermore, the reason why these deliveries were given by mothers.
Without professional attendants were investigated. Also, an associated factors such as past experience of births, parental age and other social environment were reported.
