Abstract:

Osmangazi Bridge is a suspension bridge with a 1550 meter main span is the fourth longest span bridge in the world.

The routine maintenance of the bridge are done by the Operator GIIB and the heavy repairs by the Concessionaire (Otoyol A.Ş.) based on the recommendations of the Bridge EPC contractor.

This paper summarizes the basics of the Osmangazi Bridge’s operation maintenance activities, which emphasizes to the Bridge maintenance strategy and the instructions to be applied for the operation and maintenance staff and subcontractors in order for them to undertake inspection and maintenance of the bridge. A summary of overall inspection and maintenance programs outlining the required anticipated tasks over the time is also given in the paper.
