ABSTRACT
Introduction and objective:
Vaccinations are recognized in the history of medicine as the most effective method of prevention in combating infectious diseases. They allow for the control of the course and extent of these diseases, and also significantly contribute to the complete elimination of these diseases. The aim of the study was to determine patients› motivation to get vaccinated against COVID-19, and the impact of life style and health condition on attitudes towards vaccination.

Material and methods:
This study consisted of surveys and indepth interviews with patients, specifically selected according to their profile. The survey was used to assess the correlation between the receipt of vaccination against COVID-19 and the respondents' characteristics (socio-demographic characteristics, health status, adherence, health-promoting life style). In-depth interviews were used to explain how patients motivated their willingness or reluctance to get vaccinated

Results:
The survey was conducted among 457 respondents. The variables correlating with the fact of accepting or not accepting the COVID-19 vaccination were life style indicators, age and gender. In-depth interviews made it possible to explain how patients motivated their willingness or reluctance to get vaccinated. The main reasons for accepting the vaccine were job requirements or the desire to travel abroad, and the reason for reluctance to get vaccinated was the feeling of being strong and healthy, explained by the questionable effectiveness of the vaccine and possible side effects. This feeling was related to age, but not to health status.

Conclusions:
The obtained results indicate the need for further research into patients' attitudes towards vaccinations. Knowing what factors influence the decision to receive vaccination is important for developing effective public health interventions
