NOAA/WDS Paleoclimatology - Arctic vegetation, temperature, and hydrology during Early Eocene transient global warming events
This archived Paleoclimatology Study is available from the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI), under the World Data Service (WDS) for Paleoclimatology. The associated NCEI study type is Paleoceanography. The data include parameters of pollen with a geographic location of Arctic Ocean. The time period coverage is from Unavailable begin date to Unavailable end date in calendar years before present (BP). See metadata information for parameter and study location details. Please cite this study when using the data.

STUDY NOTES: Pollen, palynofacies, lipid biomarker, and bioclimatic record from late Paleocene and early Eocene hyperthermals preserved in ocean sediments on Lomonosov Ridge, Arctic Ocean (IODP Site 302-4A, Arctic Coring Expedition (ACEX)). This study focused on latest Paleocene through early Eocene sediments from 365-395 mcd in the core. All pollen counts represent results of analyses by DAW. Presence of taxa outside of the count are represented by "P", which includes data from counts undertaken by THD. Samples from 388.42 - 388.02 mcd and 381.51 - 380.31 mcd were affected by drilling disturbancs, and these samples were not included in statistical analyses or bioclimatic estimates.
ABSTRACT SUPPLIED BY ORIGINATOR: Records of past climate and ocean circulation derived from marine sediments. Parameter keywords describe what was measured in this data set. Additional summary information can be found in the abstracts of papers listed in the data set citations. |
