During Morse Telegraph's and Teleprinter's palmy days, the only paper was a data media for input/output. Since that period, paper has been closely related with the information processing industry. Production of Information business paper has increased in proportion to the growth of the industry in spite of the fact that the advent of computers caused new data medium : magnetic tape and floppy or other kinds of discs, etc.
With the diversification of computer systems, a variety of printers, impact-type was main, are developed : thermal, ink jet, and photo electronic printers in order. In addition, the demand forrecording data in color has recently arisen, and it is almost inevitable. The industry hopes paper and hard-copy device makers are more closely related, work together, and make efforts to meet the requirements and to develop new recording technology.
