Abstract

In urban and regional development spatial justice is usually understood as a guiding principle for the distribution of public funds and infrastructures or for the avoidance of burdens, e. g. from traffic. Thus, distributive justice and institutional justice (procedures) play an important role. Commutative justice is hardly discussed at present. However, this offers starting points for fair cooperation and equal development opportunities, especially at the municipal and regional level. The article presents the theoretical-conceptual foundations on which commutative justice for urban and regional development is based and which specific application possibilities exist in the context of urban-rural development.
