Subject This article examines the key features of informal employment in the regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Objectives The article aims to assess the correlation between the level of socio-economic development of the regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the level of informal employment. Methods For the study, I used the methods of analysis and synthesis, abstraction, grouping, and comparison. Results Based on the analysis of the labor market condition and official statistics, the article presents certain results of the assessment of informal employment in Uzbekistan. The data are grouped by region of the country. The article also determines the correlation between informal employment and socio-economic indicators in the regions. Conclusions The correlation between the region's main socio-economic indices and informal employment indicates a direct correlation between unemployment and small business development. There is an inverse correlation between unemployment and GDP per capita, average per capita investment, and average real gross per capita income.
