Pyrite is etched by electrolytic etching method. Such etched surface shows generally macro-zonal structures pattern which consists of micro-mozaic etching figures. This zonal structure's pattern concerns with the internal-heterogeneity of pyrite, and corresponds with the growth-zoning. It is interests for studies of crystal growth and internal-structure etc. that growth-zoning is visible in pyrite.
