Abstract

Two new species, Aptychella pseudobrevinervis and A. oblongifolia are described based on specimens collected from Doi Inthanon, northern Thailand and Guizhou Prov., southwestern China. Both species are characterized by a single, long costa in the leaves. The two new species share more or less decurrent leaf bases, which are absent in the other costate species, A. brevinervis, but differ from each other in plant size and leaf shape. Peristome teeth of A. oblongifolia are not perforate and this is the first record of such a condition for the genus.
