Few reports have been published on fungicidal effects of chlorhexidine which is well recognized of its strong antiseptic activity of broad spectrum. The authors experimentally proved antifungal activity of chlorhexidine gluconate in vitro. Oronine H ointment with the principal stuff of chlorhexidine gluconate was found to be effective in 77.2 per cent of the subjects with trichophytia pompholyciformis after its therapeutic effects discussed clinically. No side effect was observed in any case of the subjects.
