Studying Iranian languages and dialects is an undeniable necessity because they are among the most valuable intangible heritage of our country. On the other hand، the application of latest linguistic theories to theoretical frameworks that has less been the theoretical basis for dialect research is also necessary، as it updates dialect research and renews the look at languages and dialects. The present essay is also formed by the necessity of these needs. Thus, the present study is an attempt to analyse and compare expressional constructions in Shushtari dialect based on Goldberg's (1995 and 2006) and Fillmore’s et al. (1988) formal-substantive constructions. This essay seeks to answer the question which constructions (filled or partially filled) in Goldberg's classification correspond to which constructions (formal or substantive) in the Fillmore’s classification. Golberg's grouping and Fillmore's were expected to correspond, but the unexpected irrelative groupings motivated this essay.
The data were collected using two field and library methods. Linguistic data were collected from native speakers of Shushtari dialect and the dictionary of " Shushtari dialect" (Niwand, 1977) and the dictionary of "Shushtari" dialect (Fazeli: 2004). In this research, the expressional constructions of Shushtari dialect are described and analysed based on Goldberg’s classification (1995 and 2006) and Fillmore’s et al. (1988) formal-substantive constructions. In the following, an analytical comparison of Goldberg's constructions (filled or partially filled) with Fillmore's (formal or substantive) is presented to correspond between construction groupings to aggregate the categories and achieve a new grouping. Reviews of Shushtari expressions have shown that it is not necessarily possible to correspond to the above-mentioned items, because in some cases partially filled constructions correspond to substantive ones. These observations will be reasoned in the present essay, and ultimately Shushtar expressional constructions will be regrouped according to Goldberg and Fillmore's divisions.
