Chromosomal aberrations and SCES were examined in cultured Chinese hamster cells after exposure to 16 kinds of chemicals including 9 known carcinogens (Table I). Among them, 7 chemicals, BNU, DMNA, DMBA, DBA, 4AQO, 4NQO, and NaNO2, induced SCES and/or aberrations.
