The method of estimation of zinc and cadmium as ZnC₂O₄. 2H₂O and CdC₂O₄, respectively, is investigated. The precipitate of oxalate formed with the application of oxalic acid or its alkali salt is washed with 50%, alcohol, dried at 105°C and weighed to obtain satisfactory results in most cases;the presence of alkali salt in case of zinc gives a slight negative error, but in case of cadmium, the presence of alkali salt gives no effect, except that of chloride.
