The method of estimation of zinc and cadmium as ZnC2O4. 2H2O and CdC2O4, respectively, is investigated. The precipitate of oxalate formed with the application of oxalic acid or its alkali salt is washed with 50%, alcohol, dried at 105°C and weighed to obtain satisfactory results in most cases;the presence of alkali salt in case of zinc gives a slight negative error, but in case of cadmium, the presence of alkali salt gives no effect, except that of chloride.
