To reduce problems in pulverized coal-fired power plants caused by ash deposition and clinker formation, Development of techniques about quantitative monitoring and evaluation method is important. In this study, we adopted an infrared camera system for monitoring inside a boiler and measured ash deposition area using an image processing. It was revealed the significant transition of ash deposition depending on coal types by the combination of the continuous observation using the infrared camera and the quantification method.
