Abstract

Herbal medicine, low molecular weight fucoidan and a carbohydrate restricted diet were used in combination with the stellate ganglion block in an attempt to improve the blood flow of the hypothalamus which contains the central part of the autonomic nervous system, immune system and hormone endocrine system. In this report, focus is put on 5 patient cases which have shown satisfactory progress (a 61-year-old female, with a bronchial carcinoid; a 63-year-old female, with stage II breast cancer; a 28-year-old male, with stage III colonic cancer including pelvic metastasis; a 87-year-old female, with stage II lung cancer; and a 73-year-old female, with stage I colon cancer). The results for the integrated medical treatment are presented and discussed.
