Abstract:
The Genome Database for Vaccinium (GDV, www.vaccinium.org) is an easy-to-use, online, community database that enables genomics, genetics and breeding research in Vaccinium species.
The database contains curated genetic maps, genetic markers, quantitative trait loci, and genome data from published manuscripts which are searchable with customizable interfaces.
GDV also has tools to view genetic maps (MapViewer), genome annotations (JBrowse), metabolic pathways (PathwayTools), genome synteny, gene function, and gene expression levels as well as a Blast tool for searching genome and transcriptome sequences.
The Breeding Information Management System (BIMS) for viewing the USDA-GRIN phenotype data from Vaccinium and the management of private breeding programs is also available on GDV. As a community database, GDV also assists with outreach efforts and hosts the Vaccinium Coordinated Agriculture Project (VacCAP) website (www.vacciniumcap.org). The tools and resources available on GDV are based on user inputs and the needs of the research community.
