Abstract:
This report contains the most significant results of four years’ experimentation in “soilless” cultivation of table grapes in Sicily adopted to anticipate ripening and grape harvest and, in this way, to extend the supplying period.
Particularly in this research, the aspects of production of plants and choice of the container and the growing medium, the choice of the plants to be used for the “soilless” productive cycle, the choice of the cultivar, the possibility of using the same plants for two productive cycle and the cultural practice in “soilless” cultivation have been studied.
The results from this research open up new perspectives in the field of table grape cultivation in Sicily.
