Abstract:
The survival of Fusarium proliferatum propagules after soil solarization or after heat-treatment at sublethal temperatures was evaluated. Soil solarization with transparent plastic mulch was applied for 69 days. At 10 cm depth the survival of F. proliferatum in the uncovered control than in solarized plots. The population of the fungus was eradicated by soil solarization. In the heat-treatment experiments at 35, 40, 45 and 50° C for 10, 20 and 30 min the population of F. proliferatum was significantly decreased only at the temperature of 50° C. No differences were found among the different exposure time periods.
