Abstract:
Experiments were carried out to model the effect of thermal environment on strawberry development and yield.
Time to first pick and the length of the picking period were negatively related to temperature.
Fruit yield also declined as growth temperature increased.
Computer models are being developed from these results to enable growers to schedule strawberry production more precisely.
