| Objective | Studying the hydrological and nephelometric structures of the continental shelf between the mouth of the Gironde River and the West Gironde mudflat and in parallel, studying the relationships between suspended particles and fine deposits. The GIVAPA (GIronde VAsières Plateau Aquitain) 3, 4, and 5 cruises are part of the framework of the ECOMARGE programme (ECOFER site in the Atlantic), and ensure a continuum between the Gironde (main potential source of suspended matter) and the ECOFER site (Cap-Ferret canyon zone). The cruises were conducted in different seasons in order to appraise the seasonal variability of the processes. |
