De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn verschillende uitzendingen naar Voormalig Joegoslavië. De geïnterviewde gaat eerst uitgebreid in op zijn loopbaan als Militair Administrateur. De geïnterviewde uit zich kritisch over een aantal aspecten. De geïnterviewde werd voor zijn eerste uitzending geplaatst in Zagreb en hierna in Busovaca als stafofficier. De geïnterviewde gaat in op de problemen in zijn relatie die samenhangen met zijn vele uitzendingen. Hij vertelt over zijn ervaringen in kamp Pleso. De geïnterviewde had een onpartijdige houding. Zijn beeldvorming veranderende wel tijdens de uitzendingen. De geïnterviewde vertelt over de procedures in geval van een dreiging. De geïnterviewde geeft aan dat tijdens de volgende uitzendingen, SFOR-EUFOR, het dreigingniveau steeds minder werd. De geïnterviewde uit zich kritisch over bepaalde organisatorische zaken en over de mentaliteit van sommige militairen. De geïnterviewde gaat tot slot in op zijn verdere loopbaan en op de terugkeer in de burgermaatschappij.

De collectie van het Interview-project Nederlandse Veteranen (IPNV) bestaat uit meer dan duizend biografische interviews, die gehouden zijn met veteranen van nagenoeg alle conflicten en militaire missies waar Nederland bij betrokken is geweest.
Van soldaat tot generaal, van hospik tot para, van gevechten op Nederlandse bodem in de Mei-dagen van 1940 tot de slag bij Chora in Afghanistan, alles komt aan bod in deze gevarieerde collectie. De geïnterviewden hebben bijgedragen aan een schat aan informatie voor onder andere beleidsmakers, onderzoekers, media en het geïnteresseerde publiek.
