Abstract

The surface of a steel plate was activated for catalytic reduction of NO with NH3. The catalyst showed stable and high activity in the presence of SO2, H2O and O2. The rate of reduction of NO with NH3 on the plate-form catalyst used was expressed by the following formula,
r•dv=kKNOPNO√KO2PO2in/1+KH2OPH2Oin+√KO2PO2in•KNH3PNH3/1+KNH3PNH3•dA,
which was deduced from the assumption that NO adsorbed as NO2 (a) on O (a), and that NO2 (a) reacted with NH3 (a) adsorbed on the sites different from those for the former.
