Optical, electrooptical and piezoelectric constants of d( + )-camphoric acid acetone

Abstract

Conditions of crystal growth and some physical properties of the compound d( + )-C10H16O4 · 0.5 CO(CH3)2 are reported. The piezoelectric constants at room temperature are d14 = −2.67, d25 = 19.2, and d36 = 27.7 · 10−12 Coul/N; their temperature derivatives are given by lnd14/T = 4.0, lnd25/∂T = −5.8, and lnd36/∂T= −5.6·10−3/°C. The linear electrooptical coefficients are of the magnitude of 10−13m/V.
