Abstract

The pulses of strong electric fields can be successfully used for sterilization of liquid fluids and water conditioning. Direct influence of an electric field can deactivate bacteria cells by means of electroporation. The process of wire explosion in water evoked by steep current pulses can be applied for the obtaining of metallic nano-colloids. A nano-colloid of silver shows a strong bactericidal property. Electrons from corona discharge plasma injected into water can be used for deactivation of hydrocarbon impurities in water.
