Mithilfe der FRBR, an denen sich auch das neue Regelwerk RDA orientiert, sollen Katalognutzer auf neuartige Weise im ‚bibliographischen Universum‘ navigieren können. Der Beitrag erläutert und diskutiert einerseits die zentralen Elemente des theoretischen Modells, andererseits die Chancen und Probleme einer praktischen Umsetzung. Die in Deutschland vorhandenen Datenstrukturen bilden dafür eine vergleichsweise gute Ausgangsbasis. Denkbar ist aber auch eine virtuelle ‚FRBRisierung‘ ohne Eingriff in den Datenbestand.
With the aid of the FRBR, which also play an important part in the new cataloguing code RDA, users of a catalogue will be able to navigate the ‚bibliographic universe‘ in a new way. The article presents and discusses vital elements of the theoretical model as well as opportunities and problems of a practical application. In Germany, the existing data structure seems to be a fairly good starting point. But it is also possible to ‚FRBRize‘ only virtually, without changing the stored data.
Le modèle FRBR, sur lequel s'appuie également les nouvelles règles de catalogage RDA, offre aux usagers une nouvelle possibilité de surfer sur ‚l'univers bibliographique‘. Cette contribution explique et discute les éléments-clés du modèle théorique, ainsi que les possibilités et les difficultés d'une mise en pratique. Les structures de données existantes en Allemagne représentent un point de départ assez solide. Mais on peut également s'imaginer la ‚FeRBeRisation‘ sans intervenir sur les données existantes.
