The way of amodal completion in anomalous surface configurations was investigated, using the patterns with various shapes of corner elements. In most cases the four corner elements were not completed individually. Instead, each of the two diagonal element pairs was amodally completed to form an X, or all of the four elements were completed together to form a square frame; in short, corner elements tended to be organized as a whole. This organization seemed to follow the Gestalt factor of "good continuity". As to the shape of anomalous surface, two shapes, square and diamond were seen, often overlapping each other.
