This paper proposes a simple diagnosis method for hotspot of a single-crystal photovoltaic module. This method has an advantage that the defect of each cell is detected by measuring the current of the PV module. By the application of this method，the PV modules with hotspot can be prospectively excluded in the PV power generation system.
