From that the studies on the influence of endocrine glands especially thyroid gland to blood sedimentation are scan y and uncertain, this experiment was curried out and the following results were obtained :
1) 22 rabbits fed on the desicated thyroid gland show almost always the increase in blood sedimentation, the degree of which seems to be in proportion to the thyrotoxicosis.
2) 16 rabbits thyroidectomized show also an increase in the blood sedimentation, which becomes remarkable with the appearance of the symptoms of athyroidism.
3) The blood sedimentation increased after thyroidectomy decrease again to a certain degree by feeding of the thyroid gland.
4) Among 19 cases of hyperthyroidism, 8 cases show a remarkable increase in blood sedimentation, 6 cases a slight increase, 3 cases no change, and 2 cases decrease. The increase of blood sedimentation is always more remarkable in the cases of severe deseases and after treatment it decreases again.
5) The blood sedimentation in the 9 cases of simple goitre is within normal and by giving thyroid tabletts it increases again.
