The teaching practice of the orienteering in a usual class time of the high school (for 50 minutes) was done as a strategy for the study of the navigation in the geography education, and the effect was verified. 110 students at Chiba prefectural Matsudo international high school participated in this class. A lot of students liked this class very much. Moreover, the student who had studied the topographical map beforehand put a result that was better than the student who was not doing in the orienteering practice. The map study on paper is guessed to be effective to the navigation.
