Abstract

This report aim to clarify a measure to deal the recent merger of towns and villages at geography class.
The last 3years,Japanese city,village and towns have been instructed to take a measure by goverment,As a result, so many village and towns have disappeared in spite of neiborhood protest movement.
Although it was a matter of universal interest,geographical education has not discussed so much.
In this class,we tried to take this problem.The students made map using with GIS(Geographic Information System)software.
As a result,we made clear the point of issue about the problem of refent merger of towns and villages.There are so many problem, finance,the size of towns,political powrs and so on.
The author points out the importance of creating maps using the theme at just right time.
